Alma, Our New Line of Outdoor Kitchens Is The Soul of The Home

Our Inspiration

The BBK01 line was born from the idea of returning to the essential, to achieve a kitchen with few elements among the different programmatic pieces of an outdoor kitchen. Materials such as concrete, brick and metal were used to create a simple and harmonious composition that is complemented by a green landscape. Nature and architecture as a single organism. Alma has the modern family as its protagonist, Alma provides a space to share with friends, to sit around the fireplace, to enjoy a barbecue. The Soul of the home.

Concept/Materiality

At Madeval we understand that everything changes, and just after the pandemic we reaffirmed the importance of spaces open to the outside. In this edition of Casas Project, we worked with Londoño Arquitectos to create ALMA, a space consisting of an outdoor kitchen and an adjoining living room. While it is true that the kitchen is the heart of the home, now the outdoor area is the soul of social gatherings. That’s why we saw the perfect opportunity to introduce our line of outdoor kitchens called Barbecue Kitchen (BBK01).

ALMA is a modular system for outdoors, its main characteristic is that the base of its structure is the metallic profile that allows it to have more resistance to humid environments in comparison to the traditional kitchen furniture. The main material of this kitchen is Pelikano RH melamine with a hard edge, with which the modules were built. This material guarantees its outdoors use (always under roof).

This edition signified an important alliance between our companies, Madeval and Londoño Architects, to achieve the ideal space and work together for the best result for the exhibition and our future clients. Now more than ever the exterior of a home is as important as the interior, so we decided to work with Londoño Architects, as we know they always give great importance to the outdoor social area in their projects. Complementing Madeval’s design, creating unique spaces like Alma.
